Hey friends! So I’ve had my 2019 SS for less than a month now and loving every single moment of it even coming from a 17’. Yesterday I got pulled over for my exhaust being too loud. My exhaust is bone stock and I was going about 30-35 max (rush hour ) . So he asks me what modification I have on my exhaust I told him it’s bone stock. He felt stupid and says “oh okay let me figure out what we’re going to do here”. Comes back and asks if I was driving it in sports mode. I said yeah I was . He tells me that sports mode is for track use only and when Chevy tests the car to pass the decibel test, Chevy leaves the car on stealth mode . (MIND BLOWN!) . So I’m being nice to the officer thinking he was going to let me go. But comes back and writes me up. So now I have to go get my car tested for sound levels ($100) and show up in court . ( crazy!) thought I would share lol can’t wait to take this idiot to court

That is some BS. When you put it in sport mode does it say for track use only. I guess I have to make sure my wife doesnt put her RAV 4 in sport mode next time.

Not only would I fight it in court, I would ask the judge for an apology from the officer in court and on the record. I would love to be a public defender on something like this.

Okay so your first issue here is that you live in Commie-fornia. Secondly, if your car is stock, there is no way on earth I would be paying to go get the sound level checked out. Third, isn't there a "track" mode for the track, not just sport on the SS models?

Id go to court. Honestly I think its harassment if im getting a ticket for driving a stock sports car around. If you wernt revving it and being obnoxious, you should get the ticket dropped.

Apparently when I show the court a passed db test they shoot me $100 back. There’s no way they’re getting away with this . It’s also crazy because When I showed the officers name on my Instagram a lot of people were familiar with him and ran into similar problems. This is a great example of why people should get dash cams . I just ordered mine

Ayeee, I have a dashcam sitting on my desk waiting for my car to get here. I also gotta look and see how to hard wire it. Good luck with that in court. Theres some specific cops known for just being awful people. My mom got pulled over in my completly stock grandma's Miata without absolutely NO tint on it because "the front windshield was too dark" and got a ticket.

Yeah, that's California. Pro tip for next time, put the car in stealth mode when you get pulled over, works for me.

Since this law was just recently added to include the fees and inspection instead of a fix it ticket, which would be solved by getting the ticket and then hitting your button to tour and having an officer sign off on it; it sounds more like A) The officer is an asshole B) California really needs money C) The officer is an idiot D) The officer forgot about real crimes.
