Mine was built April 26th as well. I got mine last week after a long wait. I live in North Alabama, seems you should've received yours long before I took delivery.

I think what LeonardS is saying is probably the hold up.

Is there truth the the S on the windshield meaning sold? Mine had the green S on the passenger side the day it came in … told my dealer not to touch the car except mandatory PDI so it was on there.

Right, you know that & your dealer knows that, but does GM? My order is a sold order & they entered it as a retail stock order. GM can't see that it's a sold order on their end. If you have the build sheet from when you ordered, it should say either TRE (Retail Stock) or SRE (Retail Sold).

Right, it makes sense. Just odd how things are panning out.
I meant that as more of an acknowledgement of the strange way things are happening in the industry.

That being said, GM could do better in places. Mostly in communication directly with customers.

OP's situation is bad because he took a loan and "delivery" of the vehicle in the technical sense without actually having the car.

So it was ordered Retail Stock. No “S” sticker on that windshield.

It’s hard to know who’s calling the shots, because the workers at the Plant “aim to please”. They are doing all they can to get them out the door. After that, there is a definite glitch in the system.

Mine had the “S” as well. Still took two and a half month after the build date to be delivered. Was “pending dispatch” for a solid two months.

My car has the s on the windshield as well
The car was built middle of may and sat in Lansing for 3 plus months and it showed it by the amount of dirt on the car and under the hood
But it cleaned up good only a couple areas to buff

Pretty sure the solution is: Dealer pays all payments until delivery, or they unwind the deal, full refund for customer.

Similar situation for me & my 1SS A10 with grey wheels and red brembos as the only options. It arrived just before first payment due.

I was going to "insist" and take up dealer on their offer to cover the payments if payments were due before car arrived. If they refused, a letter on legal stationary from a lawyer would have been sent to them to help them see the easy path to avoiding possible civil lawsuit and possible state criminal charge (fraud, grand larceny).

Dealer indicated they had done 10 payments for a previous customer who bought a monster chevy truck and waited 11 months for transport to be arranged to NH from Detroit. That customer had paid $7500 markup. (In my case I paid for the 'fabric/paint protection' nonsense, knowing up front that was just a $1k markup and yacht-payment for the dealership owner).

At one point I told the salesman that legally I (or Ally) could "repo" the car from GM whether it was sitting in Michigan or Albany NY. Not sure if that is actually true but it seems semi-funny either way.

My sales guy said he has a customer who ordered 2023 lt1 10 days before I did and my car arrived to the dealership first
Chevys deliveries don't make any sense
