What Cold Air Intake do you have?
Hello Camaro6!
Cold Air Intakes are one of my favorite mods and I enjoy seeing posts on here showing off your new intakes you installed. I am looking to get more information from Customers, and people who have added a Cold Air Intake to their Camaro to know what they did/didn't like about it. Did you do your install your self, or did you have it installed locally at a shop? Was the install straight forward with the instructions or did you find you had to do something not expected with your kit? How did you pick between the oil filter vs dry filter? With so many Cold Air Intake Manufacturer options out there, how did you decide on which Cold Air Intake you purchased? A favorite brand of mine is Roto-Fab, and is one I usually recommend first. Please feel free to respond answering any of these questions along with any additional notes of your own. Here are some Bullet Points to go off of
Thank you everyone! -Trae |

Rotofab Dry Filter Easy install, looks good, Highly Recommended on the forums None Yes I like it. It was first thing added to my car. Since I have done Kooks headers and cats, flex fuel, Soler TB and had it tuned.

Thank you guys for the current feed back. I am definitely in agreement with Cold Air Intakes "looking cool", and hear that all the time with when asked about them.

Submodel: 2018 2SS
Brand: Roto-Fab Type: Oiled Filter Pros: Performs well, pulls in more air, the conical open filter element looks much better than the stock box Cons: Expensive, top rubber strip seal could be made better for the price Do you like it or not: I'm very happy with it. My engine needed more air and I wasn't going to mangle the stock air box in the hope that the paper filter won't clog up or get wet that way

RotoFab Oiled filter I really like the RF as it makes the supercharger whine more noticeable and it was priced right(bought from Summit Racing back in 2021).

CAI: Rotofab Filter Type: Dry Filter Pros: High Quality, Looks Good, Excellent Filtration, Low Maintenance. Cons: Clamps are garbage worm type. Should be type that allow expansion/contraction with heat. |

CAI: K&N Filter Type: Oiled Pros: Carbon Fiber tube looks great, shield and filter look great. No rubbing on the tube from the air deflector. Looks like it's supposed to be on there. Supercharger whine sounds awesome! Cons: None

I always love the k&n filters, however, I learned I don’t like the fact that it’s oiled. Messy and difficult to clean

Submodel (2.0,V6, SS, ZL1) - ZL1 1LE
Brand of Cold Air Intake - Roto Fab Type (Oil Filter or Dry Filter) - Dry Pros - Easy install, fits fine, more SC whine, looks nice Cons - Whoosh intake noise when first accelerating isn't a great noise, need to replace an OE bolt in the hood (for rain guard) with a flat hex bolt -- not a huge deal Do you like it or not - Sure. I bought it purely to hear more supercharger whine. I did not buy it expecting any performance gain
