Oil for Florida heat
Hi
I just picked up a ‘24 2SS recently and am curious about what oil you use in your camaros. I understand about the GM dexosR rating but is 0W-40 what you use? I am considering Mobil 1 Supercar 0W-40 do any of you use this? Thanks for any recommendations/replies in advance |

I use Supercar 0w-40 in Florida on the streets and the track as it works well for both. It's also the standard for SLE's.

I've been using the 0w-40 year round has been problem free. I don't know if Mobil makes a 5qt container, or at least we didn't stock it at my job but sometimes can get some decent breaks on price at local part stores during sales.

You should ask Project Farm on YT to test that M1 against Amsoil and Pennzoil Platinum. I'm in SWFL and I had used M1 since my car was new in 2010 and I switched to Pennzoil Platinum and it ended up using less oil between changes.
Also, change the oil every 4K miles instead of what the oil life monitor says. Heat in FL along with the DI engine really puts a beating on the oil. |
