Add GM Navigation

My 2024 Camaro was ordered without Navigation.

Checked with odbgenie but their software upgrade does not support the 2024 due to new bus protocols.

Does GM offer an upgrade to add Navigation?

Thanks

I used OBDGenie's NAV upgrade for my 2022 and it works great. I'm surprised Chevy made any changes to the 2024 since it was end of life.

When I traded my 2024 2SS, according to the dealership's ad when they listed it, they upgrade the system to include navigation. I have no idea how they did it. I would call your local Chevy dealership service department and ask someone there.

In before the uninvited "why don't you just use waze / google maps / apple maps" crowd

There was a navigation upgrade package for 2019+ model years (with the newer 3.0 infotainment that uses an SD card for maps), asking your dealership is your best bet indeed.

do you have the IOS radio (8" screen) or the IOR radio (7" screen)?
If you have the IOS you can update it to have navigation(IOT radio) to the best of my knowledge.
The software from the IOT can/does run on the IOS radio. Though you may also need to replace your usb port connector with one that also includes a slot for a SD Card.

Looking at a parts site it also definitely looks like the 2024 does use the same radios as previous years.

So if you do have the IOS radio you might want to doublecheck with ODBGenie or also could recommend reaching out to White Automotive Media, though they will require you sending in your radio control unit for programming.

My 2024 Camaro has the IOS radio and a slot in the console for the Map SD card.

Will check with my dealer and/or Chevrolet about adding it.

Thanks

Check with WAMS, White Automotive and Media Services. They added NAV when I added PDR to my '22 SS 1LE.

This is what I received from OBD Genie:

Your vehicle is built with 'Can-FD', that is the ultra secure system that GM has introduced and no one can communicate with.

I'm sorry, but our G-NAV upgrade will not work on your vehicle.

I looked at their website and don't see an option to add the PDR. How were you able to add that?

Wireless Android Auto or CarPlay does a pretty awesome job with on-screen maps and navigation.

They do not have it on their site because it is not just a software upgrade. It is hardware also and GM has no support to add it to vehicles where it was not an installed option. A very small number of us have added it. There is a thread here on the forums with info. It is not a simple install.

Yeah, I've seen that. Looks like a total nightmare.

I think it depends on one's skill level. The beginning of that thread is more complicated than it really is. If you get the right parts and harness, it's not bad, then it is kinda plug n play followed by the right radio module programming. There's are few components that are not easy to procure though.

I'm glad i found this thread. My ZL1 did not come with navigation and it has been bothering me. I ordered from OBDGENIE and I can say that it does work!

The map seems to be a few years out of date though.
It is easy to do. The hardest part is finding the sd slot and inserting the card properly (it goes in upside down).
