Non-RS to RS Headlight conversion problems
Hey so I made this in hopes that someone could provide any advice or troubleshooting steps.
I recently bought a Gen5DIY harness & RS headlights to install on my 2016 non-rs. I was able to fully remove the bumper and install the headlights but have reached a hiccup. Now I have contacted Gen5DIY and they have offered their support and troubleshooting to the point saying they believe it was exposed to water some point and corrosion may have gone into the harness or one/both of the headlight modules or bulbs are going bad. I just want to see if anyone's gotten this before and was able to fix it, yea I know long shot. I have unplugged and replugged everything in hopes of a loose connection, no dice sadly. This is what I'm getting: Problem Video-1 Problem Video-2 Essentially my issues include; passenger-side LED not turning on until car is turned on, driver&passenger-side HID's made buzzing noise whenever on, when car is on the passenger-side LED's seem to be brighter then the driver-side, when the car is turned on the driver-side headlight will flicker while the passenger will stay on throughout (shown in Problem Video-2) I did plug in my old non-RS headlights and those work as normal. After speaking with Gen5DIY, I replaced the relays from their suggestion (see below) https://imgur.com/a/42bunrL I did test them after replacing the relays and the problems continued to persist. If anyone got any idea on what I could do to solve this I would appreciate it. Any/All help is appreciated |

I believe it is a voltage problem. The Power control module provides different power levels for the system the car came from the factory with. If there is a work around someone here might know!! the day of plug and play is long gone.

Shouldn’t it stay the same for the ‘16-‘18 modules at least? I would’ve thought a voltage issue on these would be on the ‘19 (even through its different headlights). I believe the harness was made for the 2016 and revisions made after that, the harness and headlights I have (which I bought off another user) are the very first ones that they made and sold
