I sold my 2009 Viper in 2019 for $62K. I thought, "only depreciated a little, pretty good - it will be worth more someday, but I can't wait that long." They are going for $80K-$90K now.

I've contemplated it, my 2020 2SS is still worth about $50k per Kelly Blue Book in a private sale (up to $52k according to them), but at the end of the day, I'm at a point in my life that an extra $50k in the bank account won't make me any happier or make any difference long term, so I figured I might as well just keep it and drive it for fun and wrench on it as a hobby...
I'm really torn, some days I just think I should take the money and run (and give someone a REALLY clean 2SS that has been impeccably maintained and the other side of me is keep my baby that I have pampered since day 1...) Who knows what the right answer is... But I absolutely LOVE walking out in the garage and just looking at the beauty... That might be worth the $50k right there...

I just checked on Kelly's Blue book site to see what my 2013 ZL1 convertible (at 55k miles) would be worth just for grins. I have no desire to ever sell it, but I was curious.
At 63k MSRP at time of purchase in August 2012, it's nor worth between $33-35k either as a trade-in or private purchase. It's a keeper. |

When I think of all the cars and bikes I have owned over the years and let go it's kind of sad. I loved all of them and have great memories. There were some I should have never sold but, then I only have so much room to keep them. I now own the last car I will ever own and it's the best out of the bunch. Having regrets for those gone is just a waste of time but, I still miss them.

Well you won't be buying any model from any company as they are all planning EVs in the next 5 to 10 years. So, looks like you'll be keeping your car for a while. Doesn't bother me, I won't buy an EV anytime soon (maybe never since I'm going on 72 years old). I'm still a gas guzzler guy, I'd buy a cool hybrid but there aren't any that make good power in my price range. I think it would be cool that they'd build a Z28 but doubt that happens. Hope they build it so you can get your Z.

Sure I'd sell. The only thing missing is a decent offer.

I love reading everyone's responses. We're in a weird environment car-wise and it's probably going to get weirder with gas seemingly going away and supposedly replaced with electric. Yes, our values may climb even higher if we hold onto them. No one knows for sure. It seems likely that we own the last of the Camaros as they are: 2 doors, gas V8, manual shift available, 2+2 seating, rear wheel drive, etc. It's a "normal" awesome car.
One guy I work with says sell and buy a new Corvette. Sounds good but I don't think you can get a base model for sticker, which is about $65K, with dealer mark-ups and general availability. Only ones I've seen are around $100K, new or used, no way I'm paying that. Another guy says sell and buy a classic 1960s something. Sounds good also, but then you get into maintenance, restoration, terrible mpg, etc. Might be OK if don't drive much or enjoy those things. I still don't know but still enjoying thinking about it. Maybe I'll list it for a high price. Someone wants it bad enough, then OK. Or keep it and install all the parts I still have in boxes - Hurst shifter, JMS throttle controller, H&R lowering springs, maybe save exhaust for later. |

Yes procrastinating for sure, dang I wish the shifter install would be as easy as it was in my '95 Z28! Thanks for feedback, I have no doubt it would make it a lot more fun to drive.

I think it's a really personal decision. I, for one, really liked my 6th Gen's but, I was never able to see it being a long-term vehicle. For what I was after, I had to go and seek out a different platform all together. However, I still look back fondly on my time with the Camaro's over the years.
When you consider selling it, is there a vehicle that gets your attention that you want to try out?
