Firstly, thanks for sharing your knowledge. Secondly, do you have a recommendation for a catch can for the ZL1 LT4?

I have been researching this extensively for a few months. Background; I have seen first hand the result of valve coking, aftercooler/intercooler varnishing and combustion chamber deposits on Tier level (ECM equipped. emissions compliant) four stroke marine diesels that are not equipped with breather bypass and catch cans. All a result of direct injection. After communicating with numerous vendors, I was most impressed with Mishimoto, Mightymouse and Elite Engineering. When Elite released the EX-2-2 stage CC it became a no brainer for me. Whatever route that you decide to pursue, make sure that you find a system that bypasses the OEM PCV. Without that bypass, all of the corrosive and clogging byproducts of blow by will continue to be introduced to your intake and then ultimately into your combustion chamber and onto intake valves. I helped a friend install a can on his Z06 at just shy of 2000 miles. Although there was no varnishing on the intercoolers yet. The amount of oil and undoubtedly other nasty compounds inside of the SC was appalling. I only lifted the SC so there was no way to see the back side of the intake valves or the piston tops. A CC will without question, be installed on my Z as soon as it arrives. The question always arises; If a CC is so important, then why doesn't GM install them OEM? Easy answer, extra maintenance with a risk. If you don't remember to drain your can, your LT4 will be in a world of sh*t.

This is subjective depending on the dyno of course since some are loose and some are stingy, but we can run our stage 4 pulley with it and hit nearly 700whp on our dyno. We did this on Hempstead's car here. I need to find his dyno to post up. Eddie @ WEAPON-X was supposed to be getting Mike's build thread up here soon anyway. Our X800 package is about as much as you can get out of the OEM fuel system without modification: https://weaponxmotorsports.com/produ...-zl1-gen-6-lt4 |

Great post. Still makes me wonder what combination of all of these options you recommend, based on power goals.

This absolutely needs to be a sticky. There's questions about this damn near everyday. Good job Ben.

Yes it can support a Pulley/Header/Intake/Tune build. The LT4 should be able to do about 630-650 RWHP on 93 with no supplemental help.
