Android Auto disconnecting at random and sometimes not detecting

This issue started for me yesterday. I tried a different known good cord from my HPTuners module and the issue persisted. Tried switching USB ports, same issue. I figured it was maybe a phone software glitch so I updated my Android software itself, still no dice so I figured maybe it was an Android Auto glitch. I updated that and still nothing. Today I cleaned out the USB-C port to rule that out as well and went to plug the phone in, nothing at all, not even a detection or charge at all. Sometimes when I go over harder bumps on the road it'll do it. What the hell is going on here? 2017 ZL1 with the premium Bose audio system by the way. All of the features on the interface.

I have the exact same problem and tried basically everything you tried. Hope someone has run into this before and has a fix.

I read some previous posts that mentioned a loose fuse but I just can't see how that would be a thing. I may have to check my digital repair manuals to see if I can track down which fuse drives the USB or HMI functions.

We are gonna have to check fuses 16 and 55 on the trunk mounted fuse block. Both are 15 amp. They drive both the USB ports and the HMI.

I'm out of town right now so I can't check but I'm curious what you find. I'm not having any noticeable issues with the HMI other than Android Auto and charging cutting in and out.

Okay so I went out there and checked my rear fuses. Low and behold there was a myriad of loose fuses, fuse 55 being one of them. I put pressure on all of them to seat them back in totally one by one. Rechecked my Android Auto and we are back in business! I think I can safely say that I am good to go now, however, an actual drive around town and my usual places will tell if there is another issue or not.

That's awesome. I'm looking forward to checking mine when I get back in town.

I'm just glad it was an easy fix. I confirmed full working functionality as of about an hour ago. No issues and all works as it should.

Small update: it started pulling the same crap on me again so I narrow it down to either two bad cords (which is possible but not very likely) OR a bad charge port which is ever so slightly starting to fail. I bit the bullet and spent a small amount of coin in a AAWireless module. Now it works flawlessly without the need to depend on a cord all the time. Happy mediums and happy trails at last!
