But a ZL1 will never be that. Now a Z/28 on the other hand.

They could be testing brake options.

Key term... "Supposedly"... Except, the gt350r-c lost its debut, to not 1 z28r, but 5.... The gt350's fastest time, they claim, is still slower than the z28's claimed fastest time. The difference is Chevy does official numbers, videos, stats, etc... The z28 posted a lot faster times, but it wasn't recorded so they didn't count it. Ford, doesn't care... They claim it with no proof... Camaro wins all day... And that's the 6 gen mustang vs the 5 gen camaro... The 6 gen camaro will dominate the 6 gen mustang... No sweat

I'll take a guess.
It's the new z28 (based on hpsix tag) ZL1 and Z28 are about to be the same (based on what happened to the vette) Pwr 6.54 means it is somewhere around 600 horsepower and the engine will be named something other than LT4 (because it wont be an LT4 much like the LSA was not an LS9) The only thing that would suprise me would be for them to develop a lighter SS and a more powerful higher revving n/a engine. Either options will be sweet. I believe GM has proved to us they know what they're doing with the performance division and will do anything they can within the division to keep us happy.. |

The L99 is no longer needed because the LT1 already had AFM. The LSA is no longer needed because the LT4 is cheaper than the LS9. The LS7 is not being replaced because they couldn't meet the Z06 power goals with a naturally aspirated engine. I'm talking about LTx engines. The EcoTec3 engines are different. They may be developing more LTx engines but I would be very surprised, unless a Grand Sport is being worked on.

They claim... It is 7:32.19... Perfect conditions
Z28 ran 7:37.47... That's was in the rain, on the track with rain all week. But!! Chevy has stated the z28 ran a consistent 7:31, in perfect conditions... But they had already released their time, and didn't care to re do it... And I just read, ford has not claimed that number... They've actually had no word on an official time yet.

Based on this photo, it does not look like a square tire set-up. So I really believe this is more a ZL1 than a Z/28. Plus I also think that Chevy will not use that rear spoiler for the Z/28, and go similar to the C7 Z06 vette. Just my .02 cents.

That pic angle is deceiving and not one to use for a good comparison plus that spoiler is wider with a higher rear pitch than the one from the regular Camaro SS spoiler.

Ford doesn't release ring times so he's also saying that means GM wins. Basically it was a worthless post |
