Thanks. I'm still trying figure out this interweb thingy.

The pic posted was NOT from that source.

That is a home-cropped pic.

Was looking for a source that does not exist, like that cropped pic.

OK...so I might be changing my mind...may not be a 6th gen under there. Doesn't seem so. Look at how the cover comes over the hood and then it falls down and almost curls backwards. On the 6th gen, the nose should be poking out, but on that one...it is not. Also, I see no sign of door handle. Might be an unfinished clay as someone above posted, but otherwise, looks very 6th gen as for the halo, and the flattened part above the rear wheel well.

(I increased the brightness in the photo below)

and then these other four...all four of them look unfamiliar to me. Fun.

Second one from right looks like a possible EV version of an HHR replacement which would make me very happy.

I was assured, repeatedly, on this very board, that ICE wasn't going anywhere for a very, very long time.

Here's GM itself stating that 20 new all-electric vehicles are coming as of 2023. That's only 6 years out.

20 new all eVs is not a small sampling, either and clearly shows they're slowly making the pivot.

Also, that Camaro looking one sure does have some wide hips in the back.

chevy did a whole thing where they gave 6th gen camaro shells to a number of colleges so they could make electric versions as a sort of competition.

So is it coming? If they dont cancel Camaro again soon, yes. No reason for it not to.

Also look at the rear quarter panel. The side belt-line flows straight into the top of the relatively flat quarter panel which no longer has an up-kick for "hips".

From automotive news:

Three of the vehicles in the photo were shown to the press.

Quote:
The new vehicles announced Monday were built "from the ground up," according to Pam Fletcher, GM executive chief engineer of autonomous & electrified vehicles and new technology.

"This is just a taste of what's to come over the next months and years," she said. "The story is more than just what you can see; it's also about what's under the skin."

Three clay models of vehicles designed for the next-generation propulsion system that were previewed Monday included a Buick crossover, Cadillac wagon and a pod-looking vehicle with "Bolt EV" badging. They featured varying heights that included an integrated battery pack, including two different heights of cells for the pack.

"These three vehicles demonstrate why that height difference is important," said Mark Reuss, GM executive vice president of global product development, purchasing and supply chain. "You can do different H-points, you can do different roof lines and you can do different range capabilities and different performance."

Another six vehicles were kept under sheets at the automaker's Design Dome in Warren. All -- except one that appeared to have the silhouette of a Chevrolet Corvette -- looked to be crossovers or SUVs.

Isn't Ford planning a 2020 high performance hybrid Mustang? If this rumor is true then certainly GM needs to respond.

Actually... I wonder if that's the e-Ray Corvette and not a Camaro? That would make more sense with the contours.

Doesn't look like Corvette to me at all. Not low and wide enough. (besides, unless they are bringing another front engine Corvette as a new generation in addition to the mid engine, it doesn't fit what we expect from Corvette) Screams Camaro.

The article says two all electric vehicles in the next 18 months. There are more than two vehicles on that stage, indicating that they are not specific to that particular announcement and therefore they are NOT all electric. They may have some degree of electrification, ranging from Stop Start to electric supercharger to plug-in hybrid to all electric. The 4th vehicle probably is a Camaro, judging by the contours in the blown up photo. Not an all electric, though. Not yet.

The Mustang Hybrid is not a rumor. It is a go program. Whether and how GM will respond is the issue.
