Exactly.. but how much lower is the question.

If it's marginal then the weight is up.. if its not then the weight is down.

3900lbs. @ 650hp is 6.0

4100lbs. @ 650hp is 6.3 :(

As per the LS9/LSA, the rarity of that engine is the reason as to the cost. In reality, the additional components are not the sole reason as to difference in price between the two. Furthermore, its a corvette vs camaro thing... things now be shifting however till now everyone knows the corvette gets the more potent engine options. With that, just like the LT1 and the LS7, these powertrain packages have a target hp goal and the engineers have to figure out a way to get there.

Some times with a larger rotor pack, some times with a smaller rotor pack.

At the end of the day this is all just conjecture.

They might even be a new tire just for this car for all we know.
Yeah, but they seemed to have removed the size information. Is it a square setup? This is really starting to bug me...not going to get any work done today.

Looks like a square setup; maybe 295-305/19? They don't have wheel well extensions so maybe they're 295.

Thanks for posting this BahamaTodd.
Tires look to be same width on all 4 corners. Same as the Z28.
Even though the rims are ZL1. Also seeing a tow hook which also makes me think more of a track car.

I look forward to a new ZL1 but still thinking this could be a Z28?
Thanks for posting pics and vid.

I understand GM has different goals to meet but reducing power makes no sense.

Team Corvette said that they could not get the required emissions target out the next LT based LS7 at the hp target that they were seeking but that does not mean that this engine could not still be used in the new Z/28 since it does not need to have a much greater hp target as compared to the hi po top dog Corvette.

Next gen L88 would be a great successor to the LS7 and GM has already re-registered that name so it could be reasonably optimistic to assume this is the path they will go. The Z/28 only needs to lose more weight and bump up the power to combat the GT350R and the likes. We already have the proven formula now we just need to continue the evolution of what's been done going forward.

This car looks downright scary. I think we have a competitor to the hellcat.

Apparently the new z28 doesn't need more power or weight loss... If the 2014 z28 beats the gt350 already. The unofficial time is faster than that of the gt350's "official" time... But, to drop the weight even more and bump the power... Wouldn't hurt, and it just gaps the competition even more...

I think this is the z28... There's a lot of characteristics that belong to a track car vs a street car... The zl1 would be suited for the hellcat challenge... But, this I think is the z28...

I just can't imagine at all, why in the word they would stamp any kind of performance data on the side of the car. Maybe they did, but is seems almost silly to me to speculate what kind of performance numbers it could mean. (still fun to speculate though lol)

My opinion....I can't see GM producing a hi-po LT1 variant making 500+ HP solely for the Camaro. It would have to go in other vehicles as well...otherwise the cost is going to be huge.

So that's why I think this car is likely the next Z/28, with an LT4 engine. Z/28 will soak up the ZL1, just like Z06 has soaked up ZR1.

This^^^ the Z/28 is starting out lighter so it doesn't need a big HP jump to move to the next level like the Z06 did. That aborted big displacement NA Z06 engine would work fine for a Z/28

I'll guess that:

VID = Vehicle I.D.

PWR<6.46 = Power to Weight Ratio. Which, if this is a Z/28 they've probably taken 100 lbs out of it compared to the SS which is 3,685 lbs so figure 3,585 lbs. Divide 3,585 by 6.46 you get 555 hp.

0/100<4.0 = 0-100kph in less than 4 seconds?

LG>1.0X = Lateral Grip greater than 1.0

#HPSIX = High Performance Sixth Gen.

So guess what boys and girls...they don't consider the SS you're buying to be high performance!! ROFL This bodes very well for the Z/28 and should cause much heartburn at other companies and forums.
Hi Doc, if you look at all the pics you can see the tire size in the front is smaller this in the past was to the LT/LS/SS and last the ZL1 not the Z/28 or the 1LE if GM stays true to form, this is a ZL1 car, there are more clues, what looks like a heat exchanger at the low part of the grill, now for the numbers.

If this is the Zl1 (and i think it is)with the pic you posted to get to the power of less then 6.46 that car will need to have 600+ HP here is how.

Car is going to come in at 3900LB, so to get better then the 6.46 you need to have more then 600HP, that only gets you to 6.5 why do i think its going to be that heavy, 1SS comes in at 3685lb add mag ride, add 6 piston up front, add heavy rear diff and all the cooling needed, and we will be luck to stay at 3900lb and if we are say 50lb more more hp needed to keep the 6.46 right.

so with that look to see 640hp and you will be at 6.17 now that will be a fast car, better pic for you all.

No one else noticed the flowtie? I'd agree it's another track Z28
