You know, that is what I'm thinking as well.

Just like the c7 z06, being a track focus corvette, is now FI perhaps the new z/28 will get the same treatment. Perhaps the hp will not match the 650hp of the z06 however something closer to the mid 500 range... perhaps the smaller rotor pack from eaton.

That, or its a na engine making 500hp++ and it requires just as much air to keep cool!

Hmmm... a 454ci????????

EDIT:

As to the weight... if it's a zl1 then I would expect the weight to be around 3900lbs. Still 200lbs. less however with atleast 70hp more! Might be a recipe for a mid to low 11 sec car.

There's no reason to detune the LT4 for the Camaro. A smaller blower would just make more heat.

Rumor is there are two hi po Camaros being developed right now. One for 2017 and one for 2018. Hopefully this is the Lt4 ZL1 loaded with options and the other is an N/A Z/28. The extra year could be for finalizing a new engine.

I like what you are saying here. It works well if they are developing a new NA motor, if not then perhaps they are merging the two, or they just use the same LT4 in both.

Lots of options i suppose, but I do hope they come with the ZL1 first in 2017.

Actually I don't really care what it is as long as it has LT4, and is not purposed for Track only, need a touring car like ZL1, ok so as long as it has MRC and LT4 and comes in around 60K then call it whatever you want.
Agree with you Denver. Seems like from our posts we both are waiting for the ZL1. I also want the LT4 and not a track car.

Now that we have track photo's I suspect we're going to get some spy videos very soon.

So obviously there's video. As usual, that won't come out until later.

I'm thinking that hood is not for a supercharged setup but is more in keeping with a naturally aspirated engine especially since we see no evidence of a large heat extractor mounted on the hood in these shots.

Since when did GM start advertising the performance goals of a program car on its side? Also, the grill mesh openings look big enough for a baseball to pass through. Odd

This is getting exciting. I'm betting they will come out with the ZL1 at first then the Z28. But who knows. This could be either car. Some points to a ZL1 but some points to the Z28. Also those numbers could mean anything on the side of the car. It looks like we all have it figured out though.
