As I struggle to put my children in the back seat of my ZL1, and the car reminds me I am no longer young in the form of a sore back, I constantly wonder if I made the right decision to daily my ZL1... Of course, then I listen to the exhaust, take an on-ramp too fast and realize that yes, yes I made the right decision.

But speaking as a previous owner of a Challenger SRT8, they're pretty amazing for what they are. Yes, they're fat pigs, but they're beautiful fat pigs with plenty of power and room to stretch out and enjoy traffic.
Go with CTS-V.

I think a Hell-Cat can be our tracked by a Honda Civic Type-R.

Yeah, no thanks. If I was going to go that route, I'd rather get a used Merc c63 AMG and mod it. Same price as the Camaro for a 16-17, and can make plenty of power with a little bit of money.

That's an atrociously bad time for the Hellcat. Damn near 12 second run, that's pathetic. I can't help but question results like that. They did better with the narrow body in the 1/4 mile. Everybody knows it can/should do way better than that with that kind of trap speed. I guess the narrow body is just a gimmick and a waste. Doesn't seem to improve anything.

Not surprised by the ZL1 results. 23 second figure 8 is mind blowing. Me personally, I'd take a ZL1 over a new Z06 any day of the week.

They're indeed special in their own way though. Nothing wrong at all with what they bring to the table. The Challenger didn't have as much room inside as it seems it would though, in my opinion. The Charger Hellcat would be great for an insane family car though. Too bad Dodge seems to be treating the Charger like the red headed step child as of late.
Or maybe, they're saving the best for last. Charger Hellcat Red Eye perhaps?

Red Eye will be way up on the food-chain. Dealer ADM will probably turn most off for the mean time

Yeah at first, but they'll be mass produced so only a matter of time before the ADMs are gone when they start sitting.

The Widebody Hellcat times Motortrend got are almost identical to what Car & Driver got when they tested one. It actually seems to make them slower in a straight line.

The original '15 hellcat tires were made skinny on purpose so the car make 200mph.

Heavier rotating mass will require more energy to accelerate (why drag setups have skinnies up front), but that's gotta be only one tenth, not four.

Seems like MT couldn't get the car to hook. They shoulda called Lund.

So the widebody crap is a waste.

That's true, but the trap speed is still strong (1 mph over the ZL1) it should definitely be able to do better than what is basically a 12 flat. Those Pirellis must suck the big one.

Does the wide body add a bunch of weight? What is the weight difference?

It adds about 60 pounds I believe, and more drag at higher speeds. Not worth it IMO, the car wasn't meant to handle, leave it at that. Still, it should of done better than a 11.9. That number doesn't make sense to me, especially given the trap speed, and especially given the fact that they got a faster time in the narrow body.

Dodge advertised the Widebody at 10.9 in the quarter. Maybe they should stop advertising their hero runs. Still waiting on a 9.65 stock Demon too.
