I've been using this one for years one. Its digital and beeps slowly as you get close to the desired setting and then beeps fast when you reach it. Also works great for all those TTY and TTA bolts the car has since it can do torque plus angle. Accuracy is +/- 3% (clockwise).

This. Torque them to 140. You can drive normally around your home and retorque but never retorque after heavy use.

I follow the same approach (do not check torque/retorque) when wheels are hot after tracking.

However, I'd think it would be fine to check torque the morning of the second track day after everything has cooled and before you start driving the car. And then, set the wrench to 137 or 138 so you can verify the torque is already that high and decrease the risk of going beyond 140 if it is already there.

Thoughts?

Always good to check in the morning, I always do. I don't see any downside to it. I don't think going a little bit beyond 140 is a big deal, torque wrenches aren't 100% accurate anyways. Just leave it at 140 and check.
