Hammerhead rear reviews
Any long term updates from those of you who are running the Hammerhead differential? Wondering how it's holding up...
Few more q's... What is the weight of the Hammerhead compared to SS and Zl1 diff? How's the emitted noise? What's the price of the Hammerhead? |

He's working on a new, stronger aluminum housing. Not sure of the ETA. The older one was 30lbs lighter than the ZL1. Had a noise channel between diff housing and subframe, could be ground down. Current RDM price http://etenterprises.com/camaro-complete-the-kit-form/.

No. It's about 10-15lbs heavier.
If my memory serves, it goes: HH < Lingenfelter < 9" < ZL1 Pricing: ZL1 < HH < 9" < Lingenfelter

Do you have the actual weight of the stock SS diff and all these we've been mentioning?

Gosh, make me work at it! I was wrong (earlier) on the difference between HHD and LPE.
Stock SS ..... 76 lbs HHD ......... 112 lbs LPE ......... 115 lbs Ford 9" ..... 124 lbs ZL1 ......... 135 lbs

I don't suppose you could elaborate on this. I have one I bought used that was supposed to have been just rebuilt, but it has a mean deceleration noise. No shavings in the fluid, but man is it annoying. I've read this should be a pinion pre-load problem, but I'd be interested to know what you mean by noise channel and what could be ground down to help.
