MGW vs Hurst....and shift ball question

So, the question here is Hurst vs MGW. I am LEANING towards the MGW, but hoping I can get some feedback

The price of the Hurst with the new bushings is right around $300, with the MGW being at $350.

I would LOVE to have the flat stick, but i have the ZL1 shift "ball" that matches the rest of my interior, so i would like to stick with that, and on the MGW and Hurst, thats not an option to run the OEM with a flat stick.

That being said, is there any difference in shifting performance behind a quality shift ball/knob over say, the oem ZL1 shift ball?

And...what is everyones opinion on the MGW and Hurst kits? I have done some reading and it seems like an equal split. The MGW just looks so much better designed, but, im no engineer.

I dont feel i need a "shorter" shifter. But i feel that 1st-3rd shifting is absolutely terrible. Squishy. Tough to get into gear. Just...terrible. And apparently the new shifters will fix that.
Thanks all!

Hurst. But my reason is mainly nostalgia. I always ran hurst in my old school muscle cars. You will like the short throw shifter no matter what brand. I would recommend changing trans oil as well. I used royal purple but there are many to choose from.

MGW all day. Quality and bang for the buck. I have had mine for about 3 years and zero complaints.

MGW man, you have a better chance to miss a 1-2 than a 2-3 with a MGW

I put the competition Hurst in mine about 4 years ago- not much improvement over stock. Put MGW in 2 days ago- what a huge improvement.

There you go. MGW!! Maybe I need to install one to feel the difference. The mgw looks like an awesome set up. Has anyone put the hurst stick and ball on the mgw shifter?

MGW here. Unlike the hurst, which just replaces the stick, ball, mount, and bushings, the MGW replaces everything. Even the linkage arms, much better design IMO. This is the reason I bought it. And, if you get the flat stick, you could always buy the retro stick and dampener for $60 and change the entire look.

MGW. Very well built and comes with everything you need for install. Install will take some time and probably a little cussing but it's worth it!
